Lots of second places @ the Wakefield competition. Pikchas are up on the FB. It was so friggin' cold I'm amazed I didn't catch cold. It must have been the huddling for warmth that did it, I think.

Double quintet playing test tomorrow. Graaawr. =(
Needless to say, I am not ready nor looking forward to it. Sadly, I can't really bounce my bows that well anymore.

Guh. Finished the goddamned essay. It's not good. (And 3% plagiarized, yay.)
I need to write the brainstorming (hah), take a shower, and then study for WHAP/go to sleep (because they're basically the same thing).
I love the fact that today is a Tuesday. I despise Mondays because I don't have anything interesting to do in the afternoons. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday = MB. Friday = potential football game/violin choir/work. Saturday = maybe competition. And Monday... is just volunteering @ Eva Perry, yuck.

Well, I figured it was about time I started using this journal. I've been using LJ more frequently these last few weeks, anyhow. And this waaaay... everybody who doesn't read the Xanga can read this, I suppose.
There will be lots of incoherency up ahead. Lots of copying and pasting from Xanga, probably - because I'll be too lazy to write two separate entries for the same thing. Snarky comments. Tangst, maybe. Here's the first entry. Ctrl+C && Ctrl+V'd straight from the X. Doesn't make much sense.

OMGOMGOMGYAAAAAY.
Saturday. Was pretty much awesome x 1093729. Spirit bead ceremony, then morning practice (all of us got farmers' tans, haha), then lunch... and new swingflags came in, so it was rush rush rush again to get them numbered and on the poles. Was wearing my green guard shirt earlier, and somehow all the green fuzz got stuck in my armpit (???). >_< Judy once again did my hair all weird and tribal, and we all had gold streaks of makeup above our eyes. ... Katie went crazy with the eyeliner and made me look like a raccoon.
Competition = so-so. I lost my balance twice during the second movement (WTF, I know), and the third movement was definitely off, but gaaaah we still placed! =) Happy-ish. We made an "E" in the stands, I was all smooshed up between Katie and James, and everything was dandy (even though the pizza was $2.50 a slice). Cheered and screamed when they called our name (we definitely out-cheered everyone there, I'm sure); it was euphoric, in a weird, hazy drug-induced way.

- 1st in visual effect
- 3rd in general effect
- 3rd in colorguard (???)
Also, @ Clayton - we were wishing this band with shiny silver instruments goodluck, and then this kid looks me straight in the eye and mouths "call me" w/ the telephone sign-y thing. o_O Creeeeeepy. I think that was the band with the ugly blue jumpsuits, lol.
Homecoming was a bit of a disappointment. Costumes were all wrong-sized, we had to strip and line up according to "size" in the locker rooms (something I thought was stupid), and they scratched and itched. AND the mommies were like "okay, NO STRAPS. Hide 'em!" so we basically had to go strapless. Everything was last minute and then... we only got to perform two movements of teh show! =( Stupid StuCo with their stupid Homecoming Court took too long.
Now I'm all bogged down with trying to catch up on homework. Another essay to write. Volunteering tonight, 'cause the library's not closed. Performance @ Carol Woods on Wednesday. Yuck.
DL'ing our show right now so I can see how badly I messed up. I think marching band is sometimes the only thing holding me up. I can't wait to hear the judges comments tomorrow, even though the thought of it makes me all queasy.
